MMI GOAL IS TO ESTABLISH A RESTORATION HOME FOR ADULT SURVIVORS

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS

THIS HOME WILL INCLUDE WRAP AROUND SERVICES THAT WE LEARNED EVERY WOMAN NEEDS, DURING OUR 5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCES WITH SURVIVORS OVERSEAS.  MMI WILL SEEK TO PARTNER WITH ESTABLISHED AGENCIES IN SAN ANTONIO WHO ALSO ARE CARING FOR SURVIVORS.

  • A safe home that provides shelter, food, clothing
  • Personal money earned through a new vocation
  • Acceptance/love/guidance/friends
  • Medical attention
  • Emotional healing from trauma and PTSD
  • To be reunited with family if possible and if a healthy decision
  • To build a new family/community if reunification is not possible
  • Justice to be served through prosecution of traffickers
  • Mere Mist International was founded in 2003 for the purpose of inspiring a generation of people who would care for humanity and look for purpose by helping vulnerable people.

In 2007, MMI founder became aware of the atrocity of human trafficking and saw these victims as the most vulnerable population in the world.   During this entire year, she researched and educated her Board of Directors, financial supporters and volunteers on the subject; until everyone was in agreement to make the rescue & restoration of women caught in slavery the primary mission of the agency.  Research showed us that the part of the world where no one seemed to be helping victims was in the Black Sea Region.  This area is the perfect port for Asia, Russia, India or Europe and traffickers use it to freely transport and sell women.  It took another year of visits into the region and searching for local partnerships to get established as an agency seeking to rescue and restore survivors.  Once the local partners were identified; MMI poured all of its resources into doing all we could to shelter survivors in the Black Sea Region; and contributed to the restoration of over 150 women.  Some of the very first rescued women are now continuing the work there, and MMI has changed its direction to serve in the USA.  We desire to serve where our members can have more personal contact and involvement, not only with survivors, but with the volunteers who will join us in this mission.  DO SOMETHING to help others, and you will find great purpose in your life.
